Acadiana Outreach Center offers a variety of services to the homeless and impoverished with the mission of 'Giving people back their God-given dignity by transforming lives to reach their highest potential.

“The Outreach Center is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded in 1990 as a day shelter providing basic need services to the poor and homeless. Today we serve the five parishes in the region of Acadiana and our purpose is to assist struggling families transform their lives to reach their highest potential and maximize their quality of life. To achieve our mission of ending homelessness in our community our organization is fully committed to delivering a comprehensive and coordinated system of housing and support services for the prevention, reduction, and eventual end of homelessness. We have services that address the unique needs of homeless individuals and families. These services include long-term case management, life skills training, job placement assistance, transportation, and access to health care, education, and child care.”

Hi I am a 47 year old single mom. Homeless with a 15 year old son. I am on the verge I loading my son if I can't put us on a house or apartment by May15 th. I am employed but paying hotels and then sleeping in my car while I have my son stay at a friend's when I sleep in my car. Don't know what to do or where to turn please help this disparate mom

I know a young woman who is homeless. She has no family to rely on. She is 20 years old and needs help with shelter and food, as well as a job. I just can’t see her living on the streets.
