The Centre County Women's Resource Center (CCWRC) was founded in 1975 as a grassroots effort to address the needs of women.
The mission of the CCWRC, established in 1978, is to provide for the needs of people who have experienced sexual and/or domestic violence through:
Crisis Intervention--immediate shelter, support and safety to women in crisis due to domestic/sexual violence;
Services--shelter, counseling, transitional housing and/or referrals to other appropriate programs;
Education --helping people to understand the individual and societal dynamics of domestic and sexual violence; and
Advocacy--accompanying and supporting clients as they attempt to access the resources available to them as survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
