While preparing to celebrate this anniversary, it seemed an appropriate time for an organization name change to reflect the desire for all victims of domestic abuse to feel welcome, while honoring the truth that woman battering continues to plague society.
Since its inception the organization has provided a means of safety while striving to advocate on behalf of battered women and their children.
NCFS also offers many services to meet the needs of male victims of abuse.

Some of the culturally specific services provided are a Native American Women's Support Group offered each week, advocacy for tribal elders experiencing abuse, and therapy for tribal children who have witnessed or been affected by family violence.
