Peace Place is able to offer emergency shelter for up to 15 women and children escaping domestic violence situations.
If the shelter is full, or would not be a safe place for the individual/family, Peace Place may provide hotel accommodations as a safe alternative.
In addition, in partnering with AHIMSA House, Peace Place also provides a safe option for pets as survivors transition from abusive situations to safer, permanent housing.
While in shelter, the survivors will receive services such as Case management and empowerment sessions, Emergency financial assistance, Community referrals and advocacy and Safety planning.
“Peace Place, Inc. brings together advocates, donors, volunteers, community partners, allied organizations and supportive individuals who are committed to ending domestic violence. Guided by the voices of survivors, we work to create safe communities in Jackson, Banks, and Barrow counties through the provision of safe shelter and supportive services for victims and survivors of domestic violence. ”
