Women's Shelters

San Francisco SafeHouse is a nurturing and empowering living community for homeless, prostituted women who want to escape the violence, brutality and trauma of life on the street.































































They provide gender-specific responses to chronic homelessness for this overlooked and underserved population, women in commercial sex work.































































Their women suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, and the residual effects of childhood abuse, domestic violence, alcohol and/or drug addiction, and street trauma.































































They offer supportive housing and a full array of recovery services that enable residents to confront the trauma of the past in a healing environment while developing independent living skills.
