Sojourner House provides a structured, nurturing environment where women and families prepare to lead responsible, productive, meaningful lives.
The strength of Sojourner House lies in recognizing and cultivating the strength within each person to overcome the barriers in their lives and to thrive. Sojourner House at PathStone serves homeless women and children by providing housing, self-sufficiency skills, and education programs, including afterschool tutoring and performing arts classes for kids.
When families arrive at Sojourner House, they are immediately paired with a case manager, who helps them set goals and work through the underlying problems that caused their homelessness, such as mental illness, poverty, addiction, inadequate education, domestic violence, or abuse.
They give families the tools they need to be successful, and then offer long-term support so that they continue to thrive after they place them in permanent housing.
“Our mission and purpose is to give women and families the tools they need to recover from trauma and build stable, self-sufficient lives. ”
