The Refuge provides an emergency shelter along with other services for women and children who are in danger from domestic violence.
The Legal Advocacy Program offers
Crisis Intervention
IMMEDIATE assistance filling out and filing a Petition for Temporary Protective Order
Step-by-step guidance through the judicial system
Assistance scheduling a hearing time to appear before the Judge to request the order
Attending TPO hearings with the client
Files the order with the Clerk of Court and Sheriff’s Office.
Information and referral to appropriate agencies and/or programs
Provide Community Education
Accompany victims in all court appearances
Makes referrals to Georgia Legal Services for the 12 month order if needed
