Hello. I am the office manager for Russ Swanay Real Estate. He is wanting to make a donation to the Shepherd's Inn of Carter County/Elizabethton. I have called several times to speak to someone to see if there is a certain item/items you would like of if a monetary donation would be better. He would like a physical address to mail a check to if that is the case. You can email me back at russsswanay@gmail.com to let me know what would work best for you. Or if you have a paypal account, we can donate online. Thank you Merry Christmas!! Tracy

Do you take clothes? I mean good clothes as a donation? We had a death in the family and she would love if someone could really use them if they need them. Thank you very much.

I had a ton of clothes ready to donate to a local shelter because local is always better. I called and got fussed at for the time I called. Anyone in a distressing situation needs clothing.Apparently those who run this shelter are picky about timing. I will donate else where and hopefully God will bring the needed clothing to everyone at Shepherds Inn. Only reason I will not donate is because my first interaction with those in charge was completely rude and uncalled for.

My son is in his mid thirties. Almost twenty years ago he put his favorite stuffed animals in a big box. Now he is ready for someone else to have the comfort and joy he get from them. They are all intact and like new. (The worn out ones have already found a place). I am in Johnson City and was hoping to donate these to the kids who are with their moms at Shepherd's Inn. Where can I drop them off this week?

The workers at facility would not let guests use computer in house to apply for jobs and went out of there way to not let us use the phone even after being there over a month. Would not let us visit with our friends and family, they said if they were that good of friends we should be staying with them, cold- Refused us transportation to interviews even trips to get food, The workers took our food constantly and said Boss told them they could--Made us leave 2 hours a day rain snow cold weather. They also had fake tvs in bedrooms. They also made us go to bed 10 pm up 7 am, treated it like military told us when we had to eat when we couldn't eat, It wasn't our home, It was the workers home, They went through our rooms daily like we were in some rehab program. They took our cell phones. Basically left us no communication. No phone had to beg to make call off house phone and worker would sit beside us and boss man recorded all calls. There were camera's in places, there shouldn't of been. They call the cops on women that decide to leave Like under some court order.

I just moved to the area and was looking for a place to donate. As a survivor of DV, I was hoping to find a caring women's shelter to donate to and possibly volunteer. The reviews of this place sound dreadful, I will keep looking!

Worst place… you can’t use your phone or laptop. Buy your own groceries, walk wherever you have to go. Jail is better than this place. It’s outdated from the staff to the decorations & NO technology. They boss you around like you’re 2 years old. If you want to look for a job…lol…you’ll have to walk & do paper copies. They don’t want you to better yourself or continue in your educational background period.
